Turtle Take Over! July 14th 2-3pm

  • Blue Ridge Wildlife Center 106 Island Farm Lane Boyce, VA, 22620 United States (map)

FUNDRAISER ALERT: Proceeds will specifically benefit Freddy Cooter, our Northern Red-Bellied Cooter. We have decided it is in his best interest to create a more controlled indoor enclosure. Unfortunately, enclosures are not cheap. We need YOUR help to build him a new home!

So, do you love turtles? Do you want to learn about multiple native Virginia species? Look no further! Our BRWC staff and ambassadors are hosting a Turtle Takeover Program! This event will take place on THREE separate dates: Saturday, July 6th; Sunday, July 14th; and Thursday, July 25th. Each event will be from 2-3 PM. Held at Blue Ridge Wildlife Center 106 Island Farm Ln, Boyce, VA, 22620.

The program will last one hour, with time spent inside our classroom and outside on our wildlife walk. We will talk about many native turtle species, where they live, what they eat, why they are important, and turtle do’s and don’ts. There will be 30 tickets available for each time slot to attend these programs. Tickets will NOT be sold at the door; they must be purchased on our website for $15 per person regardless of age. This program will feature a turtle-themed raffle with paintings from the turtle ambassadors and some other fun, turtally awesome prizes! A voluntary turtle-themed craft will start once the program has concluded. Are you ready to get shellshocked by Turtle Takeover?
